This feature is devoted to a showcase of wonderful trees to be found across Birmingham and the West Midlands, particularly in its many great parks and green open spaces.
From scarce mammals like water voles and polecats to dragonflies and kingfishers, and a huge variety of plant life, there is much to treasure and so many places to visit across the city.

In and around Birmingham, there is so much to enjoy with great parks, open spaces, canals, nature and wildlife. There are so many spaces for people to visit and enjoy.
The West Midlands is at the heart of Britain’s canal network. With hundreds of miles of canals to explore, it’s easy to see why so take our feature and enjoy!
Greyfriars House and Garden is located in the City of Worcester on Friar Street and run by the National Trust. It's believed to have been built as a house and brewhouse in 1485.
Biddulph Grange Garden is near Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire and part of the National Trust since 1988. Has a Victorian mansion with Capability Brown landscape garden.
Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses is now owned by the National Trust, about four miles from Stourbridge. The Rock Houses last occupied in the 1960s. Natioanl Trust got land from 1917-2018.
Farnborough Hall is the private home of the Holbech family, but endowed it to the National Trust in 1960, but the family still live here. Only open to the public on Bank Holidays.
Croome is an estate run by the National Trust in Worcestershire. Croome Court is a mid 18th century mansion near Upton-upon-Severn. The mansion and park designed by Capability Brown.
Hanbury Hall is near Droitwich Spa in Worcestershire and run by the National Trust. The house was built in the 18th century for Thomas Vernon. The last Vernon died in 1940 without heirs.
The Firs was the birthplace of the classical composer Sir Edward Elgar in 1857. Also called Newbury Cottage. He lived there for two years before the Elgar family moved to Worcester.
Dudmaston Estate is where you will find the 17th century Dudmaston Hall in Shropshire. There is also outbuildings, and a large lake on the estate.
Upton House is a National Trust property in Warwickshire, near Ratley and Upton. The house dates to the late 17th century. Donated to the National Trust in 1948.
Benthall Hall is a 16th century country house in Shropshire, not far from the historic Ironbridge Gorge. Has been owned by the National Trust since 1958.
Berrington Hall is a National Trust Property in Herefordshire. It was the seat of the Cawley family. Built in 1778-81. Had Capability Brown's last landscape designed garden.
Brockhampton Estate is a National Trust run property in Herefordshire. There is a timber framed house dating to the 14th century. It had been in the Lutley family for more than 20 generations.
Shugborough Estate is in Staffordshire and was the former home of the late Patrick Lichfield, a photographer of the Royal Family. His apartments are intact. Now part of the National Trust.
Pickwick Park is located on the boundary of the Sparkbrook and Balsall Heath border of Birmingham

Balsall Heath Park is located at 36 Taunton Rd, Balsall Heath, Birmingham B12 8DD.
Larches Green Park is located at Brunswick Rd, Sparkbrook, Birmingham B12 8PJ.
Balsall Heath Forum Garden Centre is located at 82-89 St Paul's Road Balsall Heath Birmingham B12 8LS
