Perry Park, Birmingham - A wonderful open space!

Perry Park is home to the Alexander Stadium & Perry Reservoir, it is in Perry Barr, Birmingham. The Tame Valley Canal is to the northern edge of the park.


Where is Perry Park?

Perry Park is located between the Walsall Road and Aldridge Road in Perry Barr.

Birmingham BMX Race Track

The popular Birmingham BMX Track or Birmingham Bike Park is located just within the park, which also has a 2 & 5 kilometre walking route. The Perry Barr Skatepark is next to it.

Holbrook

There is a stream / brook that flows through Perry Park called the Holbrook. But now has high fences along the main path from the Aldridge Road entrance.

Alexander Stadium

It is the home of the Alexander Stadium. Which was rebuilt in time for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Parts of the park have been restricted access around the site of the stadium.

Perry Reservoir

Perry Reservoir is to the north eastern corner of the park.

Tame Valley Canal in Perry Barr

The Tame Valley Canal is at the northern border of the park.

The Perry Barr Lock Bridge allows people to cross the canal between Perry Park and the housing estate near Rowdale Road.

On a clear day, the Birmingham City Skyline is visible from the Tame Valley Canal towpath overlooking Perry Park and the Alexander Stadium.

Alexander Stadium

The Alexander Stadium was built between 1975 and 1976. It is the home to the Birchfield Harriers. It was last expanded in 2011. It is currently being rebuilt for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, this started in 2019 and should be finished between 2021 and 2022. The stadium over the years has been host to the British Grand Prix and Diamond League Athletics events. It has also been host to various music events over the years. Such as Party in the Park run by BRMB (now called Free Radio Birmingham).
