History of Elmdon Park

Elmdon Park (also called Elmdon Nature Park) was established in 1944 in the grounds of the derelict Elmdon Hall, which was bought by the then Solihull Urban District Council. The house was used by the Home Guard during World War 2, but got more derelict after the war ended, and was demolished in 1956.

Close to the park is the Parish Church of St Nicholas (also known as Elmdon Church). Designed and built in 1780-81 by John Standbridge. It was altered in 1979. It is a Grade II listed building. The church is hidden in a dense woodland.
